Welcome to our Events page. Our program schedule has become a hallmark of the Pritzker Military Library. More than 50 times a year, we provide a free venue for the public to explore all aspects of military history… and some really great stories! You can access them all from this page or through the Library’s main catalog as a member.
We have hosted over 250 events, including presentations by many of the top military writers, biographers, historians, and journalists of our time. Our programming includes book lectures, special one-on-one interviews, and a series of interviews with Medal of Honor recipients – our nation’s most distinguished military veterans, who have earned the highest award for valor in combat.
Throughout the year, we also host member/guest luncheons and Saturday programs to allow our guests to enjoy all facets of our unique facility.
We are honored to include in our archive Front & Center, an Emmy-nominated collection of panel discussions produced by the Library from January 2004 through June 2009 hosted by the late broadcast legend, John Callaway.
All programs are webcast live, archived on our website for future viewing, and available for download as audio podcasts. Each week throughout the year, our television series, Pritzker Military Library Presents, appears on WYCC Channel 20, a Chicago PBS affiliate. So even if you can't join us in person, we hope you’ll check out our programming online or on television.
We are grateful to have so many individuals and organizations who have joined with us to help tell these remarkable stories. The long time and unwavering support of our founder and president, COL (IL) James N. Pritzker IL ARNG (Ret.) and the Tawani Foundation has made our work possible. A special thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, the McCormick Foundation, and Program Sponsors Albert and Audrey Ratner, Bob and Mayari Pritzker, Karen L. Pritzker and Michael K. Vlock, Capt. Dave Truitt and our over 400 associate and household members. Visit the sponsor and partner page to learn more.
Please be sure to register online. It's free, and you can choose to receive regular updates about programs and special events. You can also browse our collection of books and high-resolution images of posters, photographs, and military artifacts. We’re on Facebook and Twitter, too… another great way to stay connected and up-to-date.
The Pritzker Military Library is more than a library... it's an experience!
