John Callaway
After a broadcast journalism career spanning 50 years, John Callaway is now engaged in writing, freelance broadcasting and speaking. The long-time host of Chicago Tonight on Chicago public television station WTTW Channel 11, Mr. Callaway is now host of WTTW's "Friday Night" and senior editor for "Chicago Stories". He has been honored with more than one hundred awards, including the coveted Peabody Award and fifteen Emmys and the recipient of nine honorary doctorate degrees, including those from Northwestern University and the John Marshall College of Law. Mr. Callaway was also the founding Director of the William Benton Fellowships in Broadcast Journalism Program at the University of Chicago. He is the author of the bestselling book of essays, "The Thing of It Is" and has written and performed two one-man shows, "John Callaway Tonight", and "John Callaway's Life is... Maintenance" at the Pegasus Theater in Chicago. John Callaway has hosted Front & Center at the Pritzker Military Library, Chicago’s only monthly public affairs panel on military affairs since January 2003.
Mayor Richard M. Daley recently announced that Friday, October 5, 2007 has been designated John Callaway Day in Chicago.
Ed Tracy
Ed Tracy now serves as Executive Producer for Programs for the Pritzker Military Library and host of the Medal of Honor interview series. From October 2002 to September 2006, he was the Executive Director of the Library and in that capacity oversaw the construction, staffing, opening and operation of the Library. To date, the Library has hosted over 165 free public events featuring prominent historians, panel discussions on military affairs and interviews with Medal of Honor recipients. Ed Tracy also serves as Vice President of Philanthropy for Tawani Enterprises, Inc. and Executive Director of the Tawani Foundation.
