Wednesday, March 24th, 2004 as David Maraniss visited the library to talk about his new book They Marched into Sunlight: War and Peace Vietnam and America October 1967. This new work is based on thousands of primary documents and 180 interviews. Publishers Weekly says of the book: "Maraniss intertwines two compelling narratives to capture the Vietnam War at home and on the battlefield as well as, if not better than, any book yet written." Maraniss won the Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting in 1993, the Polk Award for National Reporting in 1995 and in 1997 the Frankfurt Prize for his book When Pride Still Mattered.
