This recruiting poster, made in 1917 during World War I, is one of several recruiting posters made by artist Arthur Edrop.

Edrop was born in England and came to the United States when he was 11. He studied art and illustrated for magazines like Collier’s and The Saturday Evening Post. He became an advertising illustrator and rejuvenated the Michelin Man campaign.

He co-founded the Omega Gamma Delta fraternity in New York in 1902.
