Education Coordinator
Laura came to the Pritzker Military Library from the Chicago Public Schools, where she was a Spanish teacher at Lake View High School for six years. While at Lake View, she was a faculty member on the National Honor Society committee and the Course Team Leader for the Spanish II curriculum. She also helped with the Asian Club, Academic Decathlon, and the spring play. Although she enjoyed the challenge of educating today’s youth, she wanted to get back to her roots in the library. Prior to teaching, Laura worked at several law firm libraries, and before that, she worked at the University of Iowa Main Library and the Wheaton Public Library.
Laura received her Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish from the University of Iowa, and a Master’s Degree in Education from DePaul University.
As the Education Coordinator, Laura develops the Library’s education programs, including field trips and course materials, and performs outreach to promote the Library to schools and educators. She also coordinates exhibits in the Gallery.
